Broadripple Home Exterior Painting – Color Repaint

This homeowner in the Indianapolis area of Broadripple was looking to have their home exterior repainted. Since we’ve worked in the area before, they got our name from a neighbor that had their fence stained by us several months prior. This is an older home repainting project and they recently had some siding replaced that needed to be painted on the back of the home as well as some wood trim around the base of the back door that needed to be replaced. After discussing their options, they decided to move forward with Legacy Painting as their house painter.   

Since the homeowner was sticking with the same colors, we were able to get a color match with our reps at PPG. After the colors were matched and ordered, we were ready to get to work.

Before painting, we always start the project off with a good pressure wash to make sure we have clean surfaces for the paint to bond. After the home was dry, we began our scraping, spot priming, and wood replacement at the bottom of the back door frame. It is important to note that on these older homes, the prep and takes longer, and costs a little more because the scraping always takes longer than a home built more recently. We masked off necessary areas, protected the deck, sidewalks, driveway, windows, removed the decorative lattice, and began painting. 

After the prep work was completed, we applied 2 coats of PPG ACRI-SHIELD MAX exterior paint in the customer’s existing colors. The Trim was basic white. The color of the siding was “Chocolate Swirl” which is a Behr Color.

This exterior painting project turned out great and the homeowners were very satisfied with the end result.
