PPG ProLuxe™ Transparent Wood Stains
IMPORTANT NOTE: Transparent stains will look different than what is being presented on this website or brochure depending on various factors including but not limited to; age of wood, previously stained, not stained, pressure treated, how weathered is the wood, exterior, interior, species of wood (red oak, white oak,, walnut, cedar, pine, maple, redwood, etc). To see how the stain would respond to your particular wood, you can supply a sample to Legacy Painting to test for you, or talk with your Legacy Sales Rep to learn your options. PPG ProLuxe™ Solid Color Wood Stains
Unlike transparent stains which are a 1 coat system, solid color wood stains are a two coat system. There are several benefits to using a solid color stain for your deck, fence, railing, log cabin, or anything you want to stain.
When you paint any type of wood, it’s best to use a primer before painting so the wood doesn’t bleed through, but a wood stain does not need any priming prior to application. In almost all cases of deck and fence painting projects, using a wood stain will provide a better result than any paint. All you need to do is make sure the wood is prepped and then apply the wood stain. Remember, that if you apply the stain with an airless sprayer, it’s also important to back-brush to work the stain into the wood.
As a PPG PerfectPro Preferred Contractor (1 of only 3 PPG ProLuxe™ contractors in the state of Indiana), Legacy Painting has gone through their specific training programs to ensure the ProLuxe™ wood stains are applied according to approved manufacture application methods.
